My name’s Jim Weatherup, and I’m the endorsed Republican and Conservative candidate for the 120th Assembly District. I am honored and proud to be running for State Assembly.  This district includes all of Oswego County, the southern portion of Jefferson County and northern Cayuga County.

About me

​

I was born and raised in Central Square, where I live with my wife, Kathleen. We have four children and several grandchildren. I recently retired from a career in telecommunications installations and have also worked in real estate development. I’m a longtime member of the Central Square Fire Company and a founding member of Square Valley Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.

​

From 2008 to 2014, I served as Hastings Town Supervisor. In 2014, I was elected to the Oswego County Legislature, and in 2019, I was honored to be chosen as Chair. During that time, I’ve worked to strengthen public safety, improve infrastructure, and hold the line on taxes– while working in a bipartisan manner to improve our area.

 

Opportunities with Strong Leadership

Our region has real opportunity ahead, from energy projects here in Oswego County to the Micron investment nearby. That means good-paying jobs and a stronger future, but we need someone in Albany who will stand up for our communities.

I believe in keeping New York affordable and making it a place where families can live and work. I’d appreciate the chance to earn your vote in November.
